Well Child Visits are annual comprehensive assessment of your child’s overall health and growth development. During the complete physical examination, a provider will review your child’s health history and evaluate their sleeping and eating habits, as well as their mental health. In addition, we will administer any immunizations that your child is due for; perform a photo vision screen; and complete any recommended screening labs, dependent on your child’s age, for conditions such as anemia, lead exposure and cholesterol. This visit allows providers to assess the health, wellness, and safety of your child outside the scope of sports performance. Furthermore, it is our hopes that your child will develop a healthy relationship with their provider and help reduce and stress or anxiety for future visits.  

A sports physical is medical clearance for a child to participate in a school-related sport. This brief exam evaluates a child’s musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems to ensure they do not have any health conditions that could prevent them from safely participating in their sport of choice. If your child has had a Well Child Visit in the last year, your provider will be able to provide a sports physical form for your child to participate in the sport of their choice.
